I’ve just installed the Livejournal Cross Poster plugin and registered a Livejournal account. Let’s see if it works…

Every so often a small crowd of drunk people wander past the house. Mostly they seem to be arguing about things.

And the subject of this update is the diary code. It’s “gone”, replaced now with the rather nice WordPress blogging software. It slices, it dices and it handles all the stuff mine did without breaking.

Cleverly it also has an “Import from RSS” option meaning I could dump my old diary out as an RSS feed and import it. All 600 entries. All in the default “uncategorized” category.

It doesn’t (yet) understand Wiki markup, but that didn’t turn out to be much of a problem since I can just type out the URL by hand.

Another nice thing is there’s a plugin for Firefox that lets me post from within it, rather than having to visit my site and log in first.

I have also modified the front page of my site so it drags the latest posts out of Wordpress, plus two images from my photo album.

This time last year I was in Keswick having just found the person I was staying the night with. This year was much more quiet.
