Getting it wrong

On my way back from my grandma’s in Derby on Sunday I went up the A38. Just before the roundabout that joins the M1 I came across this slightly unusual scene.
It looked like a multiple pileup, with a van lying over the central reservation and several cars in various states of destruction. No idea what happened and the Internet seems completely unaware of its happening.
It caused the whole Southbound lane of the A38 from the M1 junction to be closed, single lane for the Northbound A38, and a long traffic jam on the M1 Southbound.
